I'm searching for a high quality first mic preamp. I've gone back and forth after reading tons of articles/reviews on various pres and getting recommendations from other similar sites. I had things narrowed down to the 2NV, but out of nowhere, Sebtron popped into my life. It seems people love the thing. Any thoughts on better value?

I was recently approached by a church choir that would like to record a few songs on location. I have essentially three room choices: The first being a massive octagon shaped room with incredibly high ceilings (carpeted floors). The second is a smaller room with about a 20 ft. ceiling (carpeted floors).

I currently have the Midiman Midisport 4x4 interface. It has been OK, but I have some midi dropouts and one time the drivers dissapeard. I use it with Cubase SX 2.01 on a Windows XP Pro machine.

I have the opportunity to exchange it for a MOTU Micro Lite interface. What would you do?

what do you all thik of this mic.. i got rid of my adk at51tc a little while ago and needed something to replace it.. i picked up the m9 very cheap...
i'm in the middle of building a nice studio and by all means the m9 isn't my best mic.. but i figured not everyones voice is gonna sound good on a kiwi and a u87ai.. i still have some other mics to pick up

What do you think is the lower limit for mic
sensitivity ?
Typical is around the order of magnitude of 2 mV/Pa
but how much lower can you go and still be able
to bring this tiny signal up to strength with a
mic preamp ?

I recently happened upon a Sanken CU-44X for an extremely cheap price. Through research, it became apparent that this is considerd a higher quality microphone. As a hobbiest musician / recording engineer I am weak in the pre-amp arena,
