Has anyone compared the XDR's to MP20 (PreSonus)?
And how does Souncraftpres stack up.
I need to upgrade my "home studio" of a Mackie 1202 vlz.

i'm looking at getting a pair of AM52's because they are only $199 a piece right now at musicians friend. i want a pair of mics with switchable patterns. i'm going to mainly use them for recording string quartets, vocals, other acoustic combos. price does matter, so please don't suggest i go get a C12 or something like that. thanks.

Maybe some of you regulars including Harvey who seems to know just about everything about microphones can help me identify the microphone in a 1962 photo taken at the first radio station for which I worked.
I seem to remember it was an AKG but I could be wrong, it's 40 years ago.
I'd also like to aquire one of these, dead or alive, to add to my mike collection.

Can anyone give me some hints on the best Micing techniques for a grand piano? I have two SM57s and two SM58s at my disposal for this purpose. The show in question is in a 365 seat auditorium and will feature a vocalist with piano accompaniment. Thanks!
