Random Discussion: Mixing 5.1 and 2.0 channels live

Out of curiosity, do live concerts that are broadcast in HDTV typically make separate 5.1 channel and 2.0 channel mixes, with separate recording engineers in charge of each? Or do they make a 5.1 channel mix that is automatically downmixed to 2.0? Or a 2.0 mix that is processed in some way to create 5.1?

sampletank pitchwheel/fl studio9 help!

okay my first problem is my pitch knob in fl studio does not work, it moves but no pitch change, the volume knobs work everything else, but not the pitch knob.okay so then i load sampletank in the step sequencer open fruity loops wrapper and put the port number to to 5 which is a free port then put a check in the box that says "send pitch range".Then i load a instrument in sampletank channel 1,

Drum Replacement Software?

This may sound totally stupid/noob, but anyone here used drum replacer software?

Typically what I do is play 'real' drums to get the parts I want to play and then 're-record' them using MIDI triggers and sample libs. This is mainly because I don't have all the kit one needs to properly close mic a set... plus the set isn't that great.

OTB mixing. brand new to me, trying to learn as much as possible

Im a communications student studying audio at this time, all I've ever done for recording is mic the instrument...run those to a Mackie 1604-vlz which runs into our 002 factory board then into pro tools. We'd track everything and then i'd use a few basic PT plugins to mix afterwards.
