I've had it with my Mackie console. The preamps are just horrible, and that's putting it mildly. Even my M-Audio DMP3 has better sounding preamps. I've been thinking about getting an Allen & Heath but I'd like to get some of your opinions before shelling out. I have a Mackie 24/8 and I'd like something similar for that. I like the portability. Anyway, what do you think?

Any one knows why cant I hear a track during playback when its record enabled. It used to be that way but I cant hear my track while its armed for Rec.

I'm currently using Pro Tools 6.9 with Mac OS X 10.3.8. Does anyone know if Pro Tools will run if I update to 10.3.9?

I have narrowed my potential purchase down to the Wunder PAFour or the Vintech 473. I am leaning towards the 473 because it has the eq's on it and I like the sound of my X73i. I was wondering if anyone has had the chance to AB these two units. And by the way, I don't expect either of these units to sound like a 1073, I'm just looking for something to compliment my API 3124.

I've just recently (with a new project I've started)to print my mixes inside of Pro Tools because of the nature of my setup at home. I've used a Masterlink for a while and now that I'm switching over to printing inside PT I'm running into a little problem.

my question regards studio compatability.

to sum it up, i utilize cubase/ nuendo (with re-wire), and am comfortable with this set-up. It's predominantly pc-based with 200g of vsts, save for a few strategic pieces of hardware.

Hello I recently aquired a tmd8000 and iam very excited a beautiful machine. Okay, i have a prottols mix 24 system and i was told that i should just use the mixer to monitor and not to let any A/D conversion go of in the Yamaha 8000 and just to mix in Pro Tools. Is the quality of sound coming out of the Tascam below quality.

as i'm sure i've mentioned in other posts, i'm upgrading a lot of things and wanted to get the RO opinion. (you've all been so helpful already).

my band is not hard rock--if anything it's along the lines of ben folds...a lot of acoustic instruments and LOTS of rhodes :lol:
