Best Recording Software

Hi everyone
While I'm a satisfied Sonar user for the most part, I've listened to most of the mainstream software out there. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but the demo of Samplitude 7 seems to sound better. I'm just not talking about effects, but simply playing files with no processing. Some say this can't be the case, but my ears tell me otherwise.

Need advice on my future remote rig

I'm in the process of spec-ing a budget remote recording rig. I want to go with Pro Tools and I want to be able to record 16 channels simultaneously. I plan on running the Digi002 rack with a 1.5ghz Powerbook using the 002's ADAT input for my 8 additional channels. The idea of a small format digital mixer with an ADAT output is appealing but may be cost prohibitive.

Apogee Mini-Dac

Has anyone used the Mini-DAC? I have the Mini-Me, and I'd like to know how much of an imrovement the DAC will make over monitoring through the Mini-Me. I'd expect it to be considerable.
I'd like to stick with Apogee, because I like the connectivity options when using these two boxes together without compromising on portability.

Thanks,
John Stafford

using the Behringer bcf2000 with MOTU digital performer

how do i get the bcf2000 connected to the MOTU digital performer software so i can interactively use the moderized faders and other controls. i can find no information either the Behringersite or the MOTU site. i am using an apple powerbook running osx and want to connect via the usb port. Behringer provides some profile downloads for other mixing software but not this one.
