Again with analog tape issues...

Hi, well I wanted to try out the analog tape experiment, so I went out and bought a Tascam 32 1/4" reel-to-reel mastering analog tape machine and started experimenting. Oh my god it's so perfect! In all my 4 or 5 years of experience recording in the digital domain I've never EVER come across this type of sound, it's like having human ears as a recording system, I couldn't understand it!

AD/DA

Excuse me for seeming a little dumb with this question but I am still finding my way around digital recording !

I have been reading in forums recently a lot about the need for good AD/DA converters. I am aware that this is something that converts the audio from analog to digital and vice versa. Is there a huge difference in sound quality between different converters ?

Pro Tools LE 7.3.1 midi delay controlling Korg Triton synth

Greetings, I am using a Power Mac G5 dual 1.8, Digi 002 console with Pro Tools L.E 7.3.1 I have my Korg Triton classic set as slave and the Digi 002 console as the master. As I press record on the Digi 002 which starts the Korg Triton to begin to play the audio into Pro Tools there is a slight delay a little off from the sync time and the song is slightly dragging..

Let's talk compressors and EQ's.

I'm making the switch from PC to Mac on my laptop, although I'll still be using PC in my studio. I use Cubase 4 in the studio and Cubase Studio 4 on my laptop. I've used freeware plugins like Kjaerhus Classics and Pushtec on my laptop and installed the same plugs in the studio, that way I can transfer projects without any hassle.
