Tracking with limiters?

Hi all. This seems like a good place to ask about this. I record mostly acoustic music. Sometimes I record other performers (usually vocals, violin or piano), but more often I’m recording myself playing acoustic steel string guitar, acoustic baritone, classical guitar, various resonator slide guitars, snare drum and brushes, assorted hand percussion, etc.

Which mixer is better? Yamaha 03D or Ramsa DA7?

Hi u there. I run a small studio which has as a main console a Yamaha 03D Digital Console, it is so versatile, and has so many routing options that i still don't feel the need to change to another one yet, it has a ADAT I/O Card that enables me to record 8 simultaneous channels with the Digidesign DIGI001, so that's perfect for me at this time.

Agressive preamps...yes more preamp questions!

Ok guys. I've seen numerous times that API make the aggressive preamp for drums.

My question is. .are there any cheap, but aggressive sounding preamps? I know that you get what you pay for and some opinions are that a $100 pre is about the same as a $500 pre, but in the mid-level class. is there anything that is colored and aggressive?

-6086 Pro Tools LE 6.4 operating system held off interrupts

I used to get this error conistently...
I was able to fix it by opening the task manager in Windows XP (ctrl alt delete), clicking the processes tab, finding the Pro Tools process (Pro Tools has to be running at the time), right clicking on it, and setting its priority to high.

Advice on audio interface for laptop

hello there,

looking to get an interface which i can record bass guitar and turntables through onto an ibook G4. I hear that M-audio don't work well with Macs, Edirol make a couple of decent looking products but i've read some pretty unflattering things about them. Any ideas? I'm looking to keep the price below £300

cheers,
Mike

mixer problems

I have an Audigy2 soundcard in my PC which is running XP on which I am trying to record using Cubase SX and Adobe Audition. I have a Behringer Eurorack UB1202 mixer and my problem is that although I can hear the headphones attached to the mixer and the pc speakers are audible when I play Cubase with a midi track in I can only hear the incoming tack and not the tracks on Cubase.
