my setup

I have pretty ghetto equipment but it gets me by with what i need to record. I am only 16 so my money is limited but at the moment. I have:

1) Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO
2) Shure SM58's
3) Shure Drum Mics
4) Adobe Audition//Acid Pro

Like I said.. Pretty ghetto but I'm pleased with my setup. It's good for all i have for money.

getting stray frequencies recording

my recording setup is basically as follows:

gibson SG supreme p-90s > line 6 spider 210 > box containing one of the line 6 speakers and a 20$ nady mic > imic (using a 250-50k ohm transformer) > my mac > logic express 7

problem:

i am getting very very harsh spikes of various frequencies, usually around 2.5khz

Macki Onyx 1640 with FireWire Card

I'm new to the forum, but have already learned a lot this week as I've been reading. I'm preparing to start a PC-based Recoring studio that will be used to record many multi-track groups (Church choirs, Church worship bands, Small Church Orchestras, etc.). I have been looking for reviews on the Mackie Onyx 1640 and have only found a couple through the Mackie website.

Transporting a G5 for location work

I'm not sure if this is a correct forum to ask this but here it goes. I am putting together a mobile setup using a Mac G5 some pres and a Hard Disk interface. Has anyone had any experience lugging the very heavy G5 around? What is the best way to transport it? Are there custom cases or bags that can be used to safely put it in the car drive to a location setup and beakdown again?
