Davedog you mentioned that you were quite familiar with these monitors and that they need a good linear amplifier to achieve maximum performance. Could you, or anyone else here, recommend a few of amplifiers from differenct price ranges that would do the job. I am not really familiar with the intricacies of amplifiers and have no idea what a decent amp costs.

Ive got a preamplifier witha kind off mono mic input. I intend to use it with my mic which uses XLR out connectors. There are 3 output wires on my mic and 2 input wires on the preamp. How can i go about it and creat a balanced signal.

I am really trying to get "that strokes sound" with my guitars and vocals. My options are slightly limited tho because the extent of my gear is an mbox with amplitube, t-racks, and a few others. I have heard of sending the vox thru an amp and Micing the amp, if anyone could help me out with the specifics it would be greatly appreciated.thanks

I'm looking for half decent compressor but i'm on a bit of a budget, idealy I would like something that uses tubes to add some coloration but thats probably out of my range, anyways if anyone has any recommendations.

I am in a band and wish to record my own music with my own studio i would like some help i knowing what to get how to set it up and what to do i have done some basic recording on my friends fathers studio and with my own stuff, i would like to expand my studio and eventually in time i would like to have my own small label, my band is a ska band which means we have horns as well as the normal g

I'm a drummer, but I really don't know how to EQ my kit. Well I can eq the bass drum, but can some of you guys and girls give me some EQ settings like, Where my highs, mids and Lows should be for each drum. Disregard the fact of what kind of music I'm playing I'm just curious to hear how you guys do it. So i can give it a shot.

Alright. Im working with a Behringer UB1204-PRO (YEA RIGHT!) mixer right now, a stock sound card, and pair of KRK Rokits. I was wondering on how to set these up so that I can record a track, but as I'm recording, hear the track on the speakers and also hear any previously recorded tracks if there are any.

I have what sounds like a choral concert (live) recording later this spring. It is at a venue I've never recorded in before. They have a number of mics hanging about the place - don't know the details, but I recall seeing a jecklin disk and a decca tree and at least one conicident pair.

I just got a Behringer eurorack UB2442FX. It's an awesome board so far. But, there is a problem, but its a somewhat big/annoying problem. When I record straight into my sound card from my audio board I get this buzz sound. But it's not my audio card because I tried it with another audio board so it's not the card.
