Several months ago, I had a conversation with Bos about a mic I own - the AKG Solidtube, and how it was making some noise after it heated up.

The noise was similar to what you would hear if you took a tissue or a paper towel in your hand and scrunched it.

I recently purchased a Waldorf MicroWave (Rev B, CEM 3387, OS 2.0) and instantly fell in love with it, up to the extent I recorded a track using the MW as the only instrument (drums aside):

I've been using an AT4040 for years and then all of a sudden yesterday it started giving me this really weird and loud static. I tried swapping out the cable, but still the same result. I tried another condensor and that one worked fine through the same cable, pre and interface.

I recently bought a pair of passive monitors as part of my attempt at a mini home studio and will admit I do not know the first thing about hooking them up.

So I'm getting pretty tired of my bx5-a's, I'm not too satisfied by them.
my room is a 3x3 meters cube, with walls that are not too strong (they start shaking if I pump the volumebass too much)
so 5" would be more than enough, I have 500$ to invest in these.

Jack White recently did a record all analog (Ampex440 - some recorded at 7.5 ips!). He had it mastered at Gateway asking Bob Ludwig to not use any compression. none . nanda. the record was mastered to vinyl with a different master for hi res digital.

what do you think of that?

i would love to hear some of your tracks where you turned off all the dynamics plugs.

Average internet radio/streaming mp3s, or terrestrial radio and it's processing/transmission?
