I am trying to fix latency issues I am having when playing VST synths.

I just did a test, recording midi with percussion controller, and simultaneously recording audio of the same performance with a mic placed next to the controller.

The results: the recorded MIDI note is always about 20 ms later than the recorded audio hit.

I got one of these puppies a while back from my brother, and had been too busy to use it. Now, I'm trying to get it going with my MacBook so I can download and edit the audio files I've recorded.

I installed the version of Cubase that comes along with the device, but it's telling me that it's expired, and will not allow me to use it.

Damn, I was away for the weekend, came back to find my mastering DAW squealing. It won't boot and won't fix. It had only one drive, partitioned. I can see my files on the drive via the recovery disc so I'm now wondering how to recover my data? Do I install a new HD for the OS, and put the bad HD in another slot. Will I be able to grab the files off of it?
