Are NT5s tough?
Forums
Hi folks
It's festival time and I'm thinking about tossing my NT5s into the mic box. Anyone know if they can take a few bumps and bruses?
This should probably be in the live forum but I'm hoping that more of you will see this post here.
Time to load that truck.
cheers Roly

Sidechain for compressor
Forums
Dear all knowing recording gods . . .
okay - sorry about that. But now you're reading . . . and after that cat-washing post I feel a little more open to adding some spice to my posts!
I've heard little about this - and it may be more of a mastering question - but can someone fill me in on the theory of using a sidechain and subsequent EQ with a compressor? thanks!

Hi there people,

Cuebase 5.1 writing to OS drive.
Forums
Opus,
My computer is writing audio files to the OS drive instead of the "G" removable drive. Even when I select it to save song in the "G" drive the audio files get routed to the OS "C" drive. I have it a the shop being looked at but the guys there don't know a lot about Cubase. They said I should ask you waht to do. Any suggestions?

Program for monitoring CPU temp in Windows?
Forums
Is there a good program (preferably freeware, if possible) for monitoring the CPU temperature? Right now the only way I know of is to go into my bios setup menus. I'm running Windows XP. I wouldn't be suprised if its built into Windows somewhere - I just haven't found it. ;)

Windows 2000 and "Standard PC" mode
Forums
Okay, I have a P42Ghz with 512Mgs of ram running a Whizpro BIOS Ver. 1.01 dated 04/02/02 and have installed Windows 2000 Professional. I tried to follow Opus' optimization guide, but to be honest, I never saw the initial screen prompt saying hit F6 to add any third party SCSI devices and drivers, so I couldn't follow his directions and hit F5 at that time to select "Standard PC".
