I'm looking at a 42 channel Neve for my studio, price is very reasonable for a Neve.I realize this console is designed for broadcast.Having no automation means it's crippled in a mixdown situation, but is there a possibility of adding Necam,or Flying faders?Hows the mix bus?How do the pres and EQs sound compared to other used boards in the 10-15 grand range.would I be better off buying a new Alle

Shure PG58 - for speech?

Hi guys,

I'm stepping into voice-over work and am considering options for recording at home. I already have a Shure PG58, but when testing with Garageband it doesn't sound too good. Hey all,

Which pair of monitors in this price range is the winner for you?
I've had to opportunity to use a couple of the speakers I've listed below, but I haven't lived with em.

Thanks Avid! Free Thinkers! Well Ahead of The Game!

I went to an Avid presentation for Pro Tools 11 last week. Wow. They have finally come into the 21st century. Slowly they are releasing the reigns so that the standard users can have a functional DAW. I will admit some of the new features are really nice. Multiple, simultaneous export options. Cool. Finally they've got full multicore CPU support. Awesome!
