I have a line on a used Tascam M3500 at a great price in excellent condition. The guys says the faders need to be cleaned, but that's it. My only qusetion is, should I buy it? Are there any limitations I should be concerned about besdides the lack of phase (polarity) switches? I am upgrading from an Alesis Studio32 16 channel so pretty much anything else is going to be better than it.

I know that Crane Song and Apagee are great. But what others has anyone tried? Are there any that suck?

I'm a small facility owner.
We have 24 track analog, a G4 with a MOTU setup, a couple dozen mics, some outboards, a control room and a 40sqm tracking room.
I was going to ask all of you what was the typical budget for a 10 song project, but rates are so different from a country to another, so it would not make any sense.

Rec'd the new 2480 today. seems like big step up from my 1880. .wow!...do I have a LOT to learn! :D

Here's the thing: I have a few compressors (2 RNC's and an Ashley SC-50), but from what I understand as the "definition" of a limiter, they're too slow for a limiting application. So what are some good quality options?

Is it possible to record a midi track and still have it go through an analog mixer before it passes to the computer?
I am using a SBlive...
I would really like to record midi but there is a great improvement in sound when it goes through my mixer so I am forced to record audio track. so can it be done?

Can anybody give me any advise on getting a soundcard...Right now I have a SBlive and I want to upgrade to a professional card.
I will mainly be doing audio recording.

IF I understand correctly, you offer three kinds of analog I/O. The "Classic Analog", whixh is "essentially the same 24-channel, 48kHz AD/DA converters used in RADAR II", and therefore the same good sound that Radar's reputation was pretty much built upon, and then there are TWO Nyquist Analog I/Os.

Can anybody tell me any mixing timbale tips or compression tips?

Hello. I am trying to put together a project studio in Paraguay. I got a G4, PTLE + Digi001, and a Yamaha Rev7. I am going to buy a Mackie 1604, a Digimax, stereo comp, and a double channel preamp (PreSonus mp20). I am thinking about perhaps getting some better preamps not too long from now (api).
