Hello, I am new to the world of sound recording. I just found a used Tascam DR-05 that I put on lay away for mainly recording nature and live stuff. Any one use this? What would be a good, inexpensive mike for nature recording. I am thinking of a shotgun type.

so i just bought one of these the other day. its a piano with 8 beat pads. ive been trying to set it up through studio one artist for a couple days and have had 0 luck. Ive added the instrument and everytime i play a key the sound bar goes up. i record with it and it even shows what keys I'm pressing but i cant hear it.

Is it all good (Legal) if i go round my town getting sponsors for my album (I need £200 to upgrade my home studio to record my first bedroom album)

If people sign the sponsor form and give some money in return i'll give a 'Thank you pack' which includes a copy of my album, and also have there name on a 'Thank you' leaflet inside the album

DOES THIS SOUND GOOD?

So, there are two major subjects thats I'm trying to wrap my brain around. In this case (as it very well may be in general) they are closely related:

1. Signal path, especially related to FX's (pre-fade & post-fade)
2. Using a noise-gate for optimum recording

Please i am looking for any suggestion about a good quality audio interface to use as stand alone preamp / converter (lightpipe) for my ALESIS HD24 (8 channel) and as daw interface with logic or Pro Tools on mac book pro, via FW,
is there something around?

Hey all I have been playing guitar for quite a few years. And now that I have graduated and got a real job I have been able to spend money on things I like to do.
I recently got a Behringer xenyx 802, I do love it, but theres one thing that I am having problems with. I don't think it is the mixer it self rather than the method of what I am doing.

Hi guys, can anyone give my some tips on how i can deliver my rap correctly?

basically I'm going really wild on the mic but when it comes to listening back, it sounds dull and with no effort? Any advice / tips on delivery when recording and/or how to mix it to put life into it?

P.s I'm really new to recording/mixing my own stuff..

Im new to recording and mixing/mastering myself,I'm using pro tools.

I'm always looking at portable devices. Also looking at the SE Reflexion Filter specifically for using a Royer ribbon which is a figure 8 pattern. I'm thinking this might help absorb the back end of the Royer making it viable way to record vocals with them in less than desirable room.

Anyone ever use one of these? Over 200,000 sold already.
