Just joined; my first post. I'm hoping for some remastering advice on this project. I've done loads of recording, but this only once before. There's 11 songs, all live off the floor.

I have an electric drum kit and I recently started using it to record midi tracks. The problem is the default drum map has pretty lousy sounds and it really sounds awful compared to when I play through my speakers.

So I'll be buying an Apogee AD16X soon for my main converter and I was wondering what interface you guys
would recommend getting for it. I'll be using an iMac with Cubase 6.
I don't need any preamps on the interface, just strictly an interface for monitoring, and Cubase.

Hey guys, i have a Saffire pro 40 and it can clock up to 92Khz on the interface itself and thats the highest. Now, would it be possible to clock it to anything higher by syncing it to a device like an Apogeebig ben?

Need some advice on what would be a good technique to reamp through my studio monitors or even hifi speakers in a live room for that matter. Mostly sampled drums and percussive elements to give them some depth.

I'm still but a babe in the audio world, so needless to say I'm still growing into and learning to operate the gear I've got...but like any good gear nerd, I like to plot and plan for the future. My current thoughts are to buy a 10 slot lunchbox and gradually start adding 500 series preamps (probably some by Vintech and/or api but i'll leave that for another discussion).

A guy on a guitar forum threw out a statement that "all pro singers live with their own guy on the board" and "all pro singers in pro studios use" pitch control devices now.

So, I'm involved in a project called LISNR that is part of a program called the Startup Bus. There are ten buses across the nation that compete against each other for startup funding and the ability to pitch their idea at South by Southwest this week. I'm trying to validate the idea that we have with audio engineers and others involved in the business of music.

When the song starts (in the youtube link below), obviously there is an acoustic guitar, bass, and drums. But there is something else there too. It sounds like some sort of keys. Anybody know what that is or how to get a sound like that?
