Big Band Drum Sound
Forums
Hey guys, this is my first post.
I've picked up so much from you all, I think it's great that so many people can exchange ideas all in one place, a good way to stop us all from jumping into habits at the tracking stage in particular, full of new ideas to try out :)

PC based DAW audio skips (Ableton)
Forums
Not sure if this is an appropriate forum to post about these kinds of problems, so move or delete me as needed. I'm just banging my head against the wall trying to record some drums into a multitrack recording I'm working on with my band.

Tascam US-1641 + laptop + VI = freestanding MIDI module?
Forums
This ought to be easy to figure out if I just had 5 minutes with the manual -- or, even better, with the actual equipment -- but since I have neither handy at the moment & I'm feeling kind of impatient I figured I'd just ask.

Computer build out
Forums
Hello,
I need a bit of feedback on a PC system I am building out. The PC will be used with Pro Tools 9, Sony Vegas Pro 10, and Adobe Audition. AI will either be PCI sound card or Firewire. Do you think this configuration can handle the job(s)?

Headphones fix help!
Forums
Ok so I've had some Beyerdyamic headphones which I really like. The one problem is that I accidentally broke off the tip of the trs. In order to fix it I have to swap the the entire cable, which the company could do it for $50. I was wondering if anyone knows of how or where to find out how to fix this myself as opposed to shipping them off and paying a hefty price for such a simple fix.

Recording operatic singers
Forums
This one seemed not to get posted - hope its not still being moderated - apologies if so.
Hi all
I would like to record a bass singer, there will be a piano. I wanted to record live. I have only 1 microphone currently which is a Audio Tech 33a. I can buy 2 cheap condenser mics to complete the setup, these will all go into my little mixing desk which has 48v PP.

Opinions on voice recordings
Forums
Hi everyone, I'm a wet behind the ears newbie. In the coming months I'll be doing a series of langauge recordings for a program I'm working on.
These will be done with mixers and microphones in a home studio type environment(exact equipment to be determined).
