Tapes transferring only in mono

Very very newb question. I'm trying to transfer some old audio tapes to mp3. I've got a stereo mic cable going from a tape deck to my sound card, but it's only recording the left speaker.

The soundcard only has one input; will I be able to transfer the tapes in stereo? If I could even record each channel in mono I could mix them afterwards...

Any help? Thanks in advance...

Choosing the right Preamp/Multi-track recording hardware? HELP

Hi.. Ive been recording vocals/guitar/keyboard and a bit of drums for almost 2 years now, but I use a soundcraft board which runs through the "Line in" audio on my computer. My issue is when I record multiple tracks at the same time they have to be PERFECT in equalization because they all record to the same track.

Mackie Thumps: Should I go with TH-12A or TH-15A

Hi all,
I'm seriously considering getting a pair of Mackie Thump speakers, but I don't know if I should go with the 12" or the 15". Mackie's website says for vocal use (which is my main focus) the 12"s are better but I don't want to sacrifice any sound quality/power. I will be using these with a Mackie 1402 VLZ mixer. Any thoughts?

Tips on new speaker setup.

Okay, let me start this off by saying I'm broke. That being said, I just bought a pair of Samson Media One 3a speakers for my home studio. I also have the Logitech X-220. So the thing about the Samsons is they lack a bunch in the low end as expected. But the problem with the Logitechs was they were lacking in the mids, which is definitely the Samsons strong suit.
