Hey guys! I'm coming to a point where I'm starting to feel like I should step up my mixing toolbox. I've had the Yamaha HS-50's for about eight years now. Since the beginning I have utilized a home theater subwoofer with them (don't flame, I was young and as I gained experience I used it almost exclusively as bad reference to listen to mixes that had a little more bass).

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this. I would really like to get back to recording some songs though and my computer's sound card I believe has gone haywire. Here are my current songs if any of you are interested, and the last "song" is what happens when I press the record button.

I'm growing my sound-and-lights company and have an opportunity to install a small system into a local venue that's opening soon. I'm trying to determine how much to charge them for the system.

My initial thoughts are to figure this out based on 2 factors: how much the rental is, and how much i need to be paid for my work.

I,ve looked through my limited library of sound fonts but cannot find the right sound to suit.
Looking for a fluttery whirling sound that takes you through a portal to a
place of hope .I can only find sounds that are machine like and scarey :tongue:

I don't expect a big discussion here, but for the record, I was blown away by how much of a difference the quality of a DI box makes to the clarity of the audio signal. We have ProCo CB-1 DI boxes at our church and last night I took my Radial ProAV2 DI to a practice for comparison with an acoustic guitar.

I'm new to digital recording. What does "simultaneous recording" and "simultaneous playback" mean. I'm looking at a Boss br 800. Thanks

I was wondering what cables i should use to hook up the studio monitors to the Apogee Duet... Balanced or Unbalanced?

The duet has unbalanced TRS outputs and the studio monitors have balanced TRS inputs and balanced XLR inputs.

Does it even matter or can it "HURT" anything?

Quick questions... I know that some groups have separate monitor mixers on stage. Just curious, but how do they get the inputs of the FOH board and the monitor board to correspond? Where does the signal split? Would I have to run a cable from every channel from the FOH to the inputs on the Monitor mixer? Or does it go through the monitor board first? Just a little confused...
