Daking vs UA

Hello all,

Ive been debating amongst a few mic preamps and narrowed it down to 2.

Daking MicPre w/ EQ and UA LA-610

I have experience with the LA using a Neumann tlm 103 and soundelux 195 in another studio (20 songs worth exp). However NO experience with the Daking, but by reviews it seems very good.

Need help with my DAW.

Hey everyone, just have a quick little question about my daw. I have a Lexicon omega but no Cubase so i'm using reaper with it. Is it possible to record more than 2 tracks at once? and if so how can I? I'm trying to record my drum set and i need more than two inputs going at once. and no i don't have a mixer. Thanks a lot for all the help!

Will a Higher Range of Gain Affect My Recordings?

Basically I'm replacing a Firepod (circa 2006) with a Firestudio Mobile and I'm not overly clear on the difference between the two, mostly because the Firepod has been replaced by the F10 or whatever it's called and is no longer made, so I don't know what's changed between the two.

I do recognize that the gain ranges differ between the Firepod and Firestudio Mobile.

Ya just gotta hear these..

I was down at my local high-end store today trying out pieces for my upgrade and listening to some of the monitors they have. Now for those that dont know, I have a smallish room(its bigger than the old room btw) and I dont mix overly loud. But somewhere in my mind I thought, "Dogg, yas gotsta getcha sum more monitors to play through whilst trackin. " I DO have a nice monitor setup.

Recording Rap Vocals Equipment question

So I recorded my first song recently back in December '10 and I did it at my buddies setup that he has at his church. I moved and I no longer have that available to me, so I was thinking that I should just buy my own equipment and learn how to record on my own instead of having to go over to someone elses place and whatnot.
