Noise canceling vs isolation headphones

Can anyone give me an opinion on one vs the other. My drum tracking room is also my contol room. Obviously I can't really monitor what's being recorded very well with them banging away right there in the room with me so, I want to get some headphones for mic placement with a lot of outside noise reduction. I just don't know what works better; the noise canceling ones or the isolation ones.

Has anyone had any experience with the Sonic Core XITE-1 D or the A16 MK II?

My friend is getting ready to move to New Mexico and set up a new studio there and is really excited about these. He has a bunch of seventh circle and other pres and likes the fact that Sonic Core's products and legacy products from previous buyouts encounter no problems working on today's OS.

Possible drum tracking idea?

1 Kick Mic (Cheap Nady) into dbx pre-amp (heavy compression) into line input of Behr(*&$ mixer, mixed to taste.

1 Room Mic (AT2020) into dbx pre-amp (moderate compression to taste) into line input of Behr@#@^% mixer, mixed to taste.

picking a usb interface for laptop

I need a usb inteface with the following characteristics:

- usb 2.0
- at least one line input (if stereo, better, for synths) with hi-z
- at least one mic input (if it has phantom, and is xlr, better, for a condenser mic)
- a stereo output so as to route all audio when playing live to the FOH console
- it has to be low-budget (I'm in Argentina!)
