I'm having an issue recording into my computer with a Behringer USB mixer. It's a two track USB mixer, so it's supposed to be able to record into my computer. I'm currently using Audacity as well.

Friend of mine needs a pair of monitors on the very cheap. In the 100-150 range. I'm just not sure what's good in that price range. He plays acoustic stuff mostly. Acoustic and vocals with occasional bass guitar.

I've heard some M-Audio monitors around this price range are pretty useable, but I'd appreciate some recommendations as well.

Okay, so I need something besides a PreSonus Studio Control Center or a Mackie Big Knob to switch from monitors to headphones. I record in the same room all of my equipment is in. The sound is crystal clear but I just don't feel like shutting off the monitors every time I have to start recording. Any suggestions?

I've decided, for a number of reasons, that using a PC for recording is not for me, though I may use one for editing and mixing songs with more than 16 tracks.

I'm looking at buying a second hand recorder.

I have been to Avid and posted there with not much help other than to be told I need to get a fire wire external hard drive. The issue is I cannot record to the USB 2.0 1 TB external hard drive I have now. I can save to it but can use it to record to. I have to use the internal hard drive and designate it as the record hard drive.

Hi all... looking for some input regarding volume level when recording heavily distorted guitar in a hard rock or metal context. I'm not recording direct as I haven't found any satisfactory amp modeling software in Ubuntu yet, so I'm Micing the amp into an audio interface.

Hello again. I am in need of a Hard Drive that is able to withstand high SPL and vibrations. Sounds silly, but it's a major annoyance. My current external drive, a Western Digital 7200RPM drive, can't deal with the volume level that I record guitars at. Putting foam under the drive doesn't help, I usually have to wrap it in a towel and then rest it on top of the foam.

Hi All, I am an aspiring songwriter and would like to incorparate some drums within my songs. I am using Pro Tools SE with M-Audio Fast Track. Please give me an idea of something I can buy in the ball park of $100-$150 to start creating some drum beats.
