FIREPOD 10 with iMac
Forums
Hi!
I'm planning to buy an imac now... I read that the latest version of iMac has only firewire 800 port and my already existing FP 10 requires firewire 400.
Has anyone any experience of how FP 10 works with the newest iMac?

Buzz or hiss with Mackie 402vlz3
Forums
I was trying to test my new Mackie 402-vlz3 mixer yesterday with a bass guitar. so my friend came with a jazz bass (the brand escapes me now...) and we plugged it into the line 1 input and made use of the instrument level switch (which is great, replaces a DI box).

I have a 2 channel audio interface but will be recording up to 8 at one time.
Forums
Hi guys.
I will be recording a drum set (acoustic, of course) with 4-8 mics. But the problem is: how do I do that with a 2 channel audio interface? Any solutions? Is it really expensive?
Thanks

Need advice for new computer build
Forums
Hello Everyone,
I want to build a new computer for recording Vocal/Guitar/MIDI. This will be one instrument at a time using synth plugins via Cubase 5 and/or Cakewalk 6.
My computer is outdated and I don't want to fall into the same trap as before when I purchase a pre-built system.

innovative hardware abuse
Forums
Hi guys,
I'm interested in pioneering techniques used in audio mixing for the last two decades. I'm especially interested in innovative techniques where hardware abuse and over the top techniques are used.
- Extreme autotuning;
- Gated drums;
- Wall of sound;
- beat synced LFO's controlling sound parameters
can any one help me?

Pre-amp dilemma!
Forums
Hi, I'm looking to lay down some nice quality bass, guitar, and vocal tracks. I was using SM58s for a while just to demo and recently I've begun to hate the sound, as I am trying to add a more "organic" element to my electronic music. I purchased a PreSonus tube pre and with an sm57 it is really an incredible improvement.

Can anybody help on choice for DAW software for Win-7 x64 ?
Forums
Hello,
I've been using with very great satisfaction Syntrillium CoolEdit 2000 for a long time, but now that for other reasons I changed my hardware platform and adopted Windows-7 x64, this software is not compatible any more.
Though I could run it with the "XP-Mode" virtualization, I'd prefer to direct myself to a newer software.
DAW's and the Internet
Forums
Just curious how most people get their updates and what not for their DAW's if technically they should never touch the net. I usually just turn my virus protection on, plugin my dsl cable, get what I need to as quickly as possible, get off, unplug the dsl cable, and turn off virus protection.
