Guitar and Dobro pickups
Forums
A guitarist in one of my bands is looking to get pickups installed in his Martin D-28 and Wechter Rob Ickes dobro. Strictly for live use, of course. He's researching this, but I thought I throw it out here for opinions. We have a good acoustic guitar tech around here who could do anything that he and I could not do, so installation isn't a problem.

Recording time on an Alesis HD24
Forums
Hi!
I'm new here, so I hope that this is the correct place for my question.
I will be recording a live band in the near future, and will be multitracking onto an Alesis HD24. Having never used one of these units, my question is: how much recording time do you get? I'll be recording 16 tracks at 24-bit, 44.1kHz.
Any help is appreciated!

Recording Jazz trio
Forums
Hi everyone!
I'm a professional jazz piano player, I'm from Italy and my english is not so good, so excuse me in advanced.
My goal is this: recording professionally a jazz trio (piano, double bass, drums) in my room with only two microphones.
I know it could sound absurd, but:
-I put some Vicoustic panels on the walls.

Pitch Shift Question
Forums
Hi,
I'm assuming this is a rookie question -
I'm working in Cubase and have a multiple track project and it was suggested that a vocalist "may" be a little flat and that I might try increasing her pitch. Also he mentioned it's done all the time. He's not been mixing but this is what he heard. So I experimented -

Custom Rackmount Guitar Amplifiers
Forums
Does anybody know of anybody who builds, reverse engineers, or shoehorns guitar amplifiers into a rack space?
I'm currently wowed by a Fender Super Rack 60, which I've had in the studio for ages. I plugged into it last night as I was jamming in the room its based in, and my Cornford got a microphonic valve.

MUlti MUlti Multi Multitracking an Orchestra!!
Forums
Well I just got a call from a guy who wanted to rent 15 HD24 machinces to track a full orchestra. every person gets a mic. Is this a common thing, it cant be. I could'nt believe it! I thought he was joking at first. I dont think Michael Jackson or the smashing pumpkins even had this many tracks. Anyway has anybody ever done this? and what in the world was that like?
why isn't my fostex mr8 playing back?
Forums
it worked fine a couple of years ago.
every thing else seems to be ok on the setup menu.
I do everything as the manual states...
when I arm the recording keys Im getting good mic thru the monitor headphones.
then I press play and start recording...seems ok.

ITB PCI Converters vs. OTB comparisons
Forums
I've been told that ITB converters may be a better choice for high-end audio now. It does make sense. What are some of the better PCI converters?
