Having invested in EZDrummer, and using Rapier downloaded sequencer program for it, next question is. .do i need an interface between the studio and computer or can i run straight outta the headphone socket into the studio, this way has worked for playing mp3 files but i dont know if this recording sequencer business will do the same ?

I just attempted my first reamp yesterday and needless to say it failed miserably. I sent the signal out of the FireBox output 3 and ran my guitar cable straight into my amp input. No matter what I did I couldn't get enough gain on it. It just sounded slightly overdriven. Did I do something wrong? Do I need a DI box between the interface and amp?

Looking for some experienced comments.
I would like to know anyone's likes/dislikes using control surfaces with Cubase as well as control of VST Plugins for a PC platform...
Any preference you have on Firewire or USB protocols.

Greetings to all. It's been a few years since I worked on music compositions but have recently obtained a few composition jobs. This past summer I simply wrote out string/ guitar, oboe, & bass parts and either played them myself or had others play them while recording on pro tools (G3 5.1). I used to use Studio Vision in the old days and transfer midi tracks into Pro Tools.

Okay i been on windows 7 for some time now, and so far... Cubase studio 4 doesnt work with it... nuendo 3 doesn't work Cubase 3 doesn't work... and even in compatibility mode of XP they dont work.

After countless hours of research and being on the phone with 25 different tech supports I have found out that my TI IEEE 1394 Controller shares an IRQ with about 4-5 other things.

Hi, I'm a recording newbie, trying to learn some basic principles. I have been using Pro Tools to put down rhythm tracks with an acoustic guitar and then layering more on top. Or just a rhythm, bass, lead; your basic song.

Can someone suggest a good firewire interface on a chepish budget. Thank you.

I'm brand new to recording. I'm looking for an 8 channel audio interface that will give me the ability to expand later on via ADAT. I saw on the Soundcard Wizard on Recording Review that the PreSonus Firestudio and M-Audio Profile 2626 should meet my needs.

Which do you guys think will be more reliable?

-Line6 Pod x3
-Midi Cables (for electric drum kit)
-And some firewire interface.
-Some kind of mic (ONLY FOR VOCALS)
