HD24 problems anyone?
Forums
Here is something I'd like to share with those who have or have been thinking about using/purchasing an Alesis HD24 by Newmark. Apparently there has been some complaints regarding vibration issues, high sound pressure levels. The machine mysteriously dropping out of record mode? This might help those who have these machines and who may have had these problems. Let me know?

Hello All,
My name is John Stuart. I play and teach classical cello in San Antonio Tx.
I have some limited experience with recording. Most of that experience is posting cello works on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/alamocitycello
I have also done some on-site live recordings.

JBL 4208 Near Field Monitors
Forums
Has anyone used this monitors. I wasn't able to find much information for these but I found them in a very good price. I used to mix on NS10 a lot. I'm mounting a small mixing/tracking room at home to do some of my ork and lo budget productions. Do you think this may ork?
I do mostly acoustical/jazz/fusion. Sometimes pop/rock too.
Do you think this will serve for a start.

I would like a warmer sound
Forums
I have done very simple acoustic recordings for about 10 years but now I would like to take it to the next level. I moved to nashville a couple years ago as a songwriter and allways did my own songwriter demo's. I was under the impression that recording on a computer based platform was amaturish so I never really explored the capabilities.

preamp and MIDI
Forums
one day I'll get a preamp but right now it's just the mbox and I'm thinking about rerecording my songs and I'm wondering if I'll have to rerecord my drum tracks because they're done in REASON 4.0
so if the drums are a MIDI track originally and then sampled REASON drums would a preamp have any effect on it?

Can I use the Mbox inserts for outboard gear while I mix?
Forums
Can I use the Mbox 2 inserts for outboard gear while I am mixing? I want to use a Apex Exciter on a mix I have in Pro Tools already. There are inserts on the back, but I don't know if they work in conjuction with Pro Tools LE.
Piano and solo soprano
Forums
Hi,
I'm going to do a recording for a pianist and a solo soprano/mezzo, and I'm looking for some advice on placement and mic setup and such. It's a very nice hall (this) and I have access to nice mics (DPA:s, Neumann, AKG, Royer and more) and pres (milennia & RME Micstasy). Please geek out with advice :)
