A-designs p-1 and AT4050

I'm thinking about upgrading my mic collection and with it my preamps. Right now I have an Audio-Technica AT 3035 and a PreSonus tube pre with 2 inputs. They have both gotten me plenty of decent recording but I'm now looking to upgrade. I've been doing a lot of research and I feel pretty dead set on getting the A-designs P-1 preamp and the AT4050 mic. I use Mbox 2 and Pro Tools.

First time tracking a band Tips

Hey everyone!

I've tracked a number of VOs for a class (which sadly lacks the scope of getting to instruments) and some bits and pieces of music, but I am tracking two full songs for the first time this weekend and I would like to hear any tips, tricks, or lessons learned. I'm totally fine with making mistakes and learning from them, but I'd like to be aware of some cautions too!

Frecuency space in the mix

Hello dudes, lately I've been reading some stuff about mixing and the frecuency space that is needed for each element to breath correctly (bass, drum, vocals, etc) in the mix, and I wonder if that frecuency space is measure by ear and intuition or there's some frecuency meter that let me know if there are instrument frecuency fighting to get their proper space in the mix, I guess this might tak

monitoring audio from Acid Pro 6

I use Acid Pro 6. When recording with my MIDI keyboard I have no problems. I can hear everything I'm doing. Yet, when I record vocals (I use a Behringer UCA-202 USB interface) I can't hear anything. I can SEE that the system is recording because of the meters and waveforms being shown. This is the question: the UCA-202 has an output of 2 RCA plugs that aren't being used.

Ok, here's some basic digital rec, newbie questions.

I've been playing in bands for many years. I'm a guitar player. I have an M-Box 2 which came with Pro Tools 7.4 and a copy of BFD Lite. I have a MIDI interface via a Creative Labs Extigy. I also have a Yamaha DD-50 hooked up to the Extigy and it works in Pro Tools with BFD. I've never done any sort of digital recording, or anything where I need to come up with the drums myself.
