anyone using this mic any comments?

Hi everybody.

I'm from Argentina and here everything is 6 times expensive than, for say, EEUU. so I'm very worried about making the wrong decision. that's because I can't listen the mics before buying them (yes, believe it!).

Can anybody help me?

I'm thinking of buying a couple for my project studio,they will be used mostly on acoustic guitar for now but eventualy on overheads and other instruments.A lot of people speak very highly of them,they are reasonably priced as well.How about it ? Are there folks here who have them and use them.How good a mic is it?

Anyone out there have experience with the modded c414b by audio upgrades?

We use an AKG Solid Tube in the studio as well as on stage and it just occured to me that I should perhaps have an extra tube just in case. My question is; does it matter what brand of tube I use? Can it make a diiference? Or should I just go to the music store and get any old 12AX7.

My mic closet as it stands contains : AKG Solidtube, Shure KSM32, AKG C3000b, AKG C1000s (2), Sennheiser 421 (3), Shure SM57 (2), AKG D112, Electro-Voice RE20.

Have this AKG D95 S mic but can't find much more about it than that it's a hypercardioid dynamic.
and that the 'S' in its name indicates that is has a switch. Seems to be a vocal mic.

Who knows more, what kind of other uses could this mic have ? Speaker-Micing perhaps ?

I'm debating whether or not i should buy a pair of 414's for $1200CDN. Since I already have one 4033 I would just have to buy another one and that would be cheaper. Is it worth it to buy the AKG's even though they cost a lot more?
