If you could only have one for Vocals, which one would you choose?

i might buy one for $180 USD
i read everyone flaming the C1000
but I'm hoping the C3000 is different
I'm just kinda beginning my pro tools recording ventures. and this would be my kinda main large-D condenser i would like to use for a lot of applications (dont worry i also have a pair or small-D condensers and 2 57's and a 58)

I recently got a good deal on purchasing a factory matched pair of AKG C1000 mics. I'd love to get everyone's opinion on the pro's AND con's of this mic, BEFORE I open the box. I read that they can sound good as drum overheads OR acoustic guitars, stringed instruments. What do you think?

I am currently renting an AKG 414 eb with the silver body. I love it, so much so that I have been looking to buy one. There are a few 414 eb's with the black body on ebay, but none with the silver body. Is there a difference between the two? Will I be disappointed with the black body 414 eb?

i'm wondering what peoples experiences have been with this mic. how does it's sound relate to the amazing C12 or to the C414eb that followed? what applications do you find it best suited to? etc, etc, etc...

I have an AKG D112, and have an opportunity to pick up a used D12 that is in great shape for a good price. I have heard some people swear by the D12 over the D112, but can't remember why they preferred one over the other. :d:

Does anyone have any experience with both of these mics that can give me a quick comparison?

I know this is a classic kick drum mic, but is it good for any other applications? I know it used to be used on TV and film studio floors, until the 451 came along, so is it any good as a vocal mic, or on any specific instruments?
