Neumann TLM 102 vs. Neumann TLM 103 vs. AKG C414

I have a small home studio and I am looking to purchase my first high-end mic . It will be running directly into the preamps on my Apogee Duet interface. I will use it mainly for recording my Taylor GS5 and Vocals and will occasionally use it for piano as well. I have about 1000$ to spend and I am looking for the best mic.

Shure vs. AKG

Hello everyone,

Im about to purchase 3 mic's, for mainly drums, but also guitar, and bass, and possibly vocals. i would just use the three to record the whole band just for fun. Im not sure if i should throw down the extra 150 for the Shure mics or stay on the budget side and get 3 decent mics.

Should i stay on the budget side and get AKG P S 3?

Audix SCX1 or AKG Blue Line for recording dialogue?

I'm working on my first short film. New to the art. Am in the process of getting the audio gear I need. I've done a fair amount of research on what I need to record dialogue indoors (which is all I need to do for this project). My understanding is that the best type of mic for my purposes is a small diaphragm condenser with a hypercardiod pattern.

$3000 to spend AKG414 / dbx - what to upgrade?

I have $3000 (maybe a little more) that I'm going to use to upgrade my mic or preamp...or both. Considering that I have the following, what would you recommend I upgrade, and to what?

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A Mic THAT WILL BE USED 95% FOR RAP!

AKG 414
dbx 286A

Basically, how will I see the greatest improvement in my ending vocal sound?
