I have vintage Alesis Monitor One near-fields, which are unshielded. One of them has to sit right next to my vintage Zenith System 3 monitor--the layout cannot be altered. The monitor affects parts of the screen, depending on its angle, leading to my questions:
1) Will the monitor proximity cause damage to the screen, even if the TV is off?

I work with bands that regularly require over a dozen channels. Of course the usual multitrack recorder has only 8 simultaneous channels--ARRGHH!. For me the Alesis HD24 is the GOLD standard. but it's a big leap budget-wise to go from a Boss to an Alesis.

I have a Mackie TT24 with 3 ADAT fiberoptic outs. I do not need the A/D converters that the Alesis has.

Hi folks!

Is it possible to use the HD24 just as an A/D converter and feed those optical signals into some kind of ADAT2FireWire-interface that is connected to a computer? Or will the HD24's ADAT outputs only deliver a signal when the respective track is in playback (playing back recorded stuff from the harddisk) mode?

hey everyone, I'm using an Alesis multimix 8 usb mixer into my Sonar x1 daw, windows 7. Everytime i record something through the mixer i get a lot of high pitched unwanted noise/hiss. The sound of the instrument (bass) is decent, but i cant seem to get rid of this hiss. any suggestions? any help or comments would be GREATLY appreciated.

I ask because using external microphones with the Zoom H2 is almost imposable as the pre-amp is so bad. Has anyone used the Alesis PalmTrack with a decent external microphone? How well does it work?

been a long time! I'm currently working a gig as a second sound engineer on a cruise ship. With this setup in the theatre we use an Alesis ADAT HD24 to run production shows, as well as to record 'sick' tracks for singers, or if an act wants we can route from the (dated) Yamaha DM2000 console to the HD24.

hi, I do mostly classical recordings I use for the pourpose and ALESIS HD24 with an analog mixer, I am thinking to buy a very good 8 channel preamp with ADAT lightpipe out to feed Alesis HD 24.
