This is probably a long shot, but has anyone considered trying to setup a group buy for API or Neve preamps?

I was thinking we could go in for some 3124's, API Lunchboxes with the cards, Seventh Circle Audio clones, or some Neve clones.

Does anyone know what kind of power supply (trans, gretz, condensers) API built in 500-6B Lunchbox? Any link to electronical data and schematics for that?

API 500-6B and 500H use different power supply. Does that affecting the sound of preamp modules (512c)?

I'm interested in finding out more info on the API 525 compressor. Anyone on here have any experiance with one?. I figure if it's an "API"product it's got to be good. Is it known for any special quality?. .

I've searched the archives, and i have a grasp of the "difference" (or lack of) between the 312, 512, 212, etc.

But, what specifically is the difference between the 212 and the 212L? Are there component changes?

On the 2-bus would you use the massive first or second or in the sidechain of the 2500?

Any differences in sound (color, character, response, quality, etc.) of new API 512c between pad in and pad out modes?

Hi guys, I posted this question in another forum and was directed here. I'm considering getting another pre to add to the rack. I mostly do pop, rock, hard rock, jazz, country etc but I do have a project of classical music coming up. I know the API 3124+ and UA pre's would be great for the rock stuff but how about classical? I have the MP2NV which sounds great but I need more channels.

Ok guys...this is my last preamp post!

-I can get a 4 channel Sebatron for $1700

or

-I can get a 2 channel API Lunch Box for $1900 with the capability of expanding for more channels

I'm in the market to by some preamps as well. Which one would be better using either an AKG c12vr/414, u87. I've herd the what the 737 is capable of but i'm also hearing a lot of people talkin about the lunchbox. (this would be for hip hop /r&b) let the chye know :lol:
