Obviously we've encountered different processor socket types, different motherboards and motherboard specs. Now we look at the overall shape, design and specs on them.

Ok..here we go..the beginning stages to building a complete PC Digital Audio Workstation!
First thing we want to cover is the basics..
Motherboards and Processors
Which one do we choose? Which one is better for us? Which one has more proven success rates? Which ones do certain audio hardware manufacturers recommend?

I'm really considering building this system myself. My main concern is that this would be the first system I've ever built, and I don't want any mistakes or over looked details to get in the way of my production. Does anyone know of any online lay out or fully detailed... step by step building procedures I can follow? I mean everything down to the last LED.

I don't know if this belongs here or not... It's kind of a follow up to the "Gear means nothing" thread... in a way.

I'm finding that I'm really loosing a LOT of additional income by strictly being a mobile service.

I just joined the list tonight, and was wondering about some help. I have been using a Dell Inspiron 5000e for some time. I am about to build a computer and was wondering what to build. Here is what I am thinking about any input would be greatly appreciated. I have really enjoyed reading everything in here.

I have just bought 1 TV station and 2 radio stations in Peru, SA

I was wandering... if it's possible to make a "console" from those dbx Channel Strips? I could have a whole bunch of those together... let's say, 16 of those... around $8000... that would be 16 channels with EQ and compressor, 96k digital outs... doesn't sound THAT bad to me... don't get me wrong... I don't even have all that money... that's just a thought... is this a ridiculous thought?

Hey all. I'm thinking about building a PC to use for Logic (seems like the strongest pc multitrack option in terms of power and sound) maybe also Sound Forge and Acid, and Reaktor to get out my complete tweaking jones. I figure PC is where my bucks go furthest in terms of power, not to mention upgrading options.
