I have started designing my pro tools studio around a Digidesign 002 rack, so far I have an Alesis SR16 midi'd to a Korg Trton which is then connected via Midi out to the 002 rack. I have a marshall amp and an old digital RP3 digitech unit for my guitars plus a Shure SM57 and SM58.

Well, I'm going to build a new DAW soon.
I've built a few "ANUS"-machines a few years ago.
Always going for the Asus mobo's with i845, i865 or i875 chipset with Northwood P4's CPU. ( Socket 478 )
Matrox G550 or Radeon9200SE (on the buget models) Videocards.
Seagate and Western Digital HD's with 8 Mb cache.

I'm in the beginning (planning) stages of building a basement recording studio and was wondering on about how much power would be needed to run a small studio. I know its a very vague question but i am just looking for an estimate.

I am about to build another workstation, and I am looking for some advice on what NOT to get...
In general I mean, are the latest Intel Mobo/Processors any good?
are there any modern hardware catches? on-board video etc.

I have just about got my home studio to a stage where I can begin doing some good recording, but am still missing a vital link...mics.

I'm prob. going to get a couple of SM57s, but need some help with what other mics will go well, and are not too expensive. (I guess I am aiming at mainly band type recording but also small classical type ensembles as well)

When Mars Music went out of business, a friend of mine bought some large display racks from them real cheap. He let me use them because he didn't have a place for them. But now he's bought a house and wants them back. So I'm in the market for some Equipment racks.

well Like the topic says I'm going to be building a studio for my band this summer, and i've been experimenting a lot right now with just recording myself playing guitar. but I'm on a tight budget, i have 2000$ and a Custom built computer that i know will be able to handle anything right now. but anyways I'm looking for good equipment that you guys recommend.

I have been asked to retrofit a TRS snake with an ELCO connector for an old Soundcraft 2400 board.
The schematics I received from soundcraft show the pin configuration. It says, "View from solder pin side of free connector".
