Description
An acronym for Digital Audio Workstation A digital audio workstation (DAW) is an electronic device or application software used for recording, editing and producing audio files. DAWs come in a wide variety of configurations from a single software program on a laptop, to an integrated stand-alone unit, all the way to a highly complex configuration of numerous components controlled by a central computer. Regardless of configuration, modern DAWs have a central interface that allows the user to alter and mix multiple recordings and tracks into a final produced piece.

DAW that lets me use my own Preamps?

Thats right, I would like a audio interface for the PC so I can do digital recordings, however I am having trouble finding any that don't have built in preamps. I am sure there some with great preamps out there, but if I happen to have some high quality preamps, and would like to keep them in the signal loop while still switching to digital, would I have any options?

running a drum program into a standalone daw?

i have a question regarding using a drum program on a mac as a standalone and running it into a standalone daw, such as a boss 1200. i have tried in vain for some time now to use Cubase to no avail, and have since decided go the boss daw recording route..computer recording is not my thing. now I'm wondering can i run battery 3 (drum program) and my midi controller as a standalone into a daw?

Hello, I'm going to buy a new PC (serious DAW usage) so that I can run as many VST/ plugins I can (EWQL Symphonic Orchestra, EWQL Symphonic Choir, GPO, VSL) without having glitches/fuzz/clicks/noise/etc (lowest latency possible).

Here are some info:
