Using Firewire devices in Acid?

Hello, I am thinking of getting a Alesis multimix firewire 8, I was wondering if anyone has experience of recording with firewire devices in Acid Music Studio. The mixer does come with Cubase le, but this version seems limited. Will I be able to record with this mixer into Acid? Will I be able to mix the files on my computer with this mixer?

Small portable recording device

I am new to sound recording and wanted a portable device to record family gatherings (storytelling), friends playing musical instruments and singing, children talking and various environments while travelling. I just received an Olympus WS310M digital recorder and ME51S microphone that I ordered from an online shop.

looking for a good (and cheap) firewire reocording device.

hello everyone, i was thinking about getting an Alesis Multimix 16 Firewirem mixer to replace my curent setup. does anybody know if there are any drawbacks to the Alesis that i should consider before getting it. i need it for recording bands, and i have not yet decided on a computer for it. are there any other mixers in this same price range that would be better.

Bus Powered Firewire Devices

I have an M-Audio Firewire interface. It's bus powered and doesn't have a power switch. When I turn my computer off, it stays on. It is always on, unless I unplug the firewire cable. I know it's not a big deal, but it bugs the hell out of me knowing this thing is on all of the time. I know it does this with other bus powered firewire interface too.

Aggregated Device

Sorry to double post, but if you have OSX Tiger, you can set up an aggregated device with the Audio MIDI Set Up app. This would allow you to connect multiple interfaces (allows for a LOT of I/O) to your computer, and have them appear as one uber-interface to your DAW. I don't know if that has any relevance to your situation but I figured I'd throw it out there for you just in case.

Logic Pro & Aggregate Devices

Hello,
I'm currently Running Mac OS 10.3.9 with DP 4.0
MOTU 828, 896 and two Alesis AI-3 for 32 inputs/outputs

I want to switch over to Logic Pro
yet i'm fearful of upgrading to OS 10.4

the problem is concerning agregate devices
simply put: will logic pro supported multiple hardware devices regardless of what verison of OS X?
