need help with guitar

Hey this is Sam
I am having trouble getting a good guitar sound.
I used an SM75 on a mesa tripple rectifire, and ran through my pre-sonus fire pod (which is 24bit/ 96K by the way), through one fire wire cable, and into my computer which i am using Logic express with.
I also have a Line 6 spider 2 modified amp head(so it could be rackmounted) but not a real good cab.

Guitar simulator crash

Nearly all the guitar simulators I have tried have crashed my pc. Amplitube, Green Amp and all the other free ones.
When I apply them to more then one track, I start to hear cracking and pops, and after a short while my pc usually freezes. This also often happens when I use other plugin Cubase SL.

Removing some major fuzz from guitar track

I rerecorded a cover of Transylvanian Hunger by Darkthrone in my solo project Degorrot. The whole song is finished by the guitar sounds fuzzy as hell. I used that piece of garbage DOD Death Metal Distortion pedal. I don't wanna rerecord the whole damn song again, is there anything I can do to reduce this fuzz or am I just gonna have to rerecord it with my Boss Metal Zone pedal :x ?

recording electric guitar/electric bass with a Sennheiser E604

Hi all! Just wondering if any of you have ever tried recording electric guitar/electric bass with a Sennheiser E604? Have read people saying that the E604's sound a LITTLE like MD421's on toms, so therefor i wondered if they would be good as bass/guitar-mics. I know it is not very common to use these as mentioned, but. .anyone have any experience?

Micing acoustic guitar

I've been told that, with the mics I have (two knockoff Oktava MK012's), a good way to mic an acoustic guitar is to put one mic about 5 inches away perpendicular to the 12th fret and one about 5-6 inches away pointing just to the left of the hole. This sound effective? If not, any advice? And, if so, should the levels be as high as I can get them before they peak?
