Hi all,

This is my first post, happy to be here.

The measurements of my room are as follows:

4.30m (meters) depth
3.00m width
2.70m hight

Now in my left corner is a small recording room made of plasterboard which is 2 meters in width and about 1.30m in depth.

I sit behind the desk and on my left there is a window about 1 meter in width and hight on which I just today put a curtains.

My questions to some of you who are experienced and willing to advice are:

Help setting up external hard drive in Cakewalk Home Studio 2004

Member for

Hi, I'm new here. I posted in this forum because it was the closest to the DAW that I am running (Cakewalk DAW) .
I have been using Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 since, well, 2004. I know it is a very old DAW by now, but it serves for what I do.

However, I recently purchased a 1 terrabyte drive and want to keep the program on the C drive of my computer, but set it to store my projects and everything else that will eat up hard drive space in the new hard drive.

1- I cannot figure out how to do that, and the manual is no help.

Hi dudes/dudettes, :)

I'm building a new home studio, as you might have guessed from the thread title. I have included MAX prices for each piece of equipment, but can rearrange if others are under. UK links only please.

I need to record:
-Male vocals
-Electric + electric-acoustic guitar (only one guitar at a time)
-MIDI input
for high quality demos & will be editing in Ableton Live 9.

The 3 main inputs will be 1)Vocals, 2) Guitar, 3) MIDI controller.

home studio room acoustics – is this a good idea?

My wife and I are moving into a new house. In the basement there's a spare room, that I want to turn into my new home studio.

Room size is approx. 236 sq ft/22 qm and 7.5 ft/2.27 m high.

The acoustics in this room are quite terrible. It's stone walls and tiled floor and there is a metal pipe running along one wall about two inches below the ceiling. I get a "nice" reverb when I clap my hands.

Upgrading my Home Studio Recording equipments

Greetings.
I want to change my current setup to the one FOCUSRITE SAFFIRE PRO 24 sound card mainly for improvement in recording Vocals and Acoustic Guitar.
The problem is i have no idea that this change does really affect my recording quality.
My current setup:
- Infrasonic Quartet 4x4 Pci interface (I just use Line-in and not Its own preamp)
- Behringer xenyx 1002 fx ( for its preamp)
- Akg perception 400 Condencer mic.
- SM pro MC01 Condencer Mic.

Please tell me what you think, and any other recommendation.

Hi everyone,

I am currently trying to step up my game a little, and move away from producing mainly on headphones. To do so, I am planning on using my Kitchen/living area as a space. This seems like a bad idea at first, but because I rarely use the kitchen, and usually do my studio in large chunks over 3 weeks, with a week or two break after each "session", it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
