Hi there, I just found this website while searching for the solution to my problem. I'm in a band and on our CD we used a couple "intros" that are not music. For example we have a song about zombies and the beginning of it sounds like a zombie hoard being shot with a machine gun.

I need to record my keyboard sound into garage band. It is a Yamaha Portable Grand DGX-505. It has a micro usb port, a 1/4" output jack. I tried to get a mono 1/4"- split 1/4" audio cable. The cable was a "grounding cable". It didn't work. What do I need and how do I set it up in GB? I would like the sound to be the sound that I am hearing in my headphone. Is this possible?

the flaw I found with the ZED is its 1.1 USB.I was thinking of adding a Focusrite Scartlette 2i2 USB 2.0,

Yamaha PSR 350 keyboard
Yamaha UX16 MIDI/USB cable (connects keyboard to computer)
Cubase 5

I'm looking for software that will do something along the lines of the following.
I play a pitch on a keyboard that is connected to my computer via and audio in port.
The piece of software takes the pitch and recreates the pitch through a utility like simple synth or garage band or Ableton.

First, I wanted to buy a midi keyboard, but I decided that I will buy synth to $ 400:) My choice is a Korg MS2000. Recommend me some other synths for that price. I making electronic music (Ableton): experimental, ambient, witch house, minimal synth, minimal wave, synth.
