background information about recording music

I am 15 years old and have been around musica my whole life, from singing in church choir when I was 5 to playing guitar and piano now. I know that I want to make money off of music when I grow up and recording sounds like a great job where you can be around all kinds of music and new bands. The problem is, I have no idea what to do. I don't know any of the equipment.

Converter for different style of music

I'm getting into mastering and wanted some opinions on different AD/DA converters. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I wanted to know which converter fits a certain style of music if any. I know they all have their own characteristics but need some info before I go out and spend $$$. I am doing more dance electronic, hip hop, aggressive music where the client wants it LOUD.

String Quartet in Pop Music

Hallo,

next week I will track a string quartet for a pop recording. So far I'm planning to use a Schoeps ORTF System for the overall ensemble sound and some room information as well as close Micing each player individually with a Schoeps cardiotic mic.
Since I'm more used to classical recording techniques I have the following questions:
