You might be able to do this if the voice is panned in the centre of a stereo file. Put one side out of phase and anything that is common to both sides (in the centre) will disappear when these are added together, hopefully isolating the backing track.

When you've isolated the backing track, you can put this out of phase with a mono version of the original file and this should remove a lot of the backing track, leaving the vocal behind.

Unfortunately this method rarely works completely, but try messing around with it and you might have something you can use.

This will only remove something according to its position in the stereo panorama, and anything occupying the same position as the voice will be permanently attached to it. I am working on the assumption that voice is occupying the centre by itself. You'll have to do a lot of tweaking depending on the particular file you are working with.

Good luck with it!
