Humidity control around musical instruments
It's that time of year again. Cold snap in the mountains of SW Virginia and NO moisture in the air. I keep room humidifiers running all winter so that my frets don't start popping and instruments start falling apart. I don't like piano humidifiers or guitar case humidifiers. I prefer to keep the whole room moist rather than put the moisture close to one part of the instrument.

Would you trade your job in music?
I love mine, built a studio to the owners specs (independent frames, tons, tons of drywall), and landed a job as a staff engineer, i also seem to be the one (unofficially) heading the marketing.

music folders aren't big, but using up all my hard drive
Hi all
Got a question, I've got a couple of bands on my hard drive, if I click on the folders they add up to about 35 gigs. They are the only thing on the 250 gig hard drive, hidden files are enabled. When I click on disk properties it says I've used up 150gigs, is there something Cubase is hiding or the way I'm saving the files?

Meeting Other Computer Music Producers
Not sure if this is the right place to discuss this but so I was wondering if there are any groups that 'physically' meet in the UK just to chat and share ideas with computer music production.

I want to record music for the rest of my life
i want to record music for the rest of my life. this isn't a on the spot decision ive been giving it a lot of thought for a long time.
Which would be better.
goto a 4 year school, institute of recording and production, or just jump right in and job shadow and try to volunteer and get as much experience as possible and just go from there...
Recording duo cello and piano/classical music
Hi!
I'm completely new to the audio recording and I am asking for some advice.
I'm planning to record classical piano with cello (Schubert Arpeggione Sonata).
I have tree mics: RODE NT55 matched pair and Audio-Technica AT2050.
Everything goes to my laptop via Fast Track Ultra.

Music from PC
Hi Gurus.
I am a total novice, so I need your advice? I do not even know if I am in the right forum, but I have experienced that when I play my music through my PC, the sound is not as good (over the same system) as it is playing a self compiled CD through my CD player?
