Classical music radio in Los Angeles takes a hit

Well, we are now down to 1 classical radio station. It was just annonced that KMZT is switching format to be a country station. This is really unfortunate as many of the local ensembles broadcast on this station. The other classical station is much more corporate in nature- the syndicate dj's to other stations and don't do many live broadcasts.

Does anyone recognize this 60's Music Stand ?

Does anyone know what company made this particular type of music stand, or have you ever seen one like this? http://www.wizardsworkplace.com/ray/music%20stand2.jpg

I'm trying to find what company used to make these stands, and I believe they were around sometime in the late 50's, 60's and 70's.[/url]

Thoughts about recording the crowd at a folk music show

Here's the situation - well known, well regarded, well recorded (over MANY years) folk singer. He played for us last year - the first time in our town - the crowd was great, knew much of his music, great sing-alongs with harmonies from the audience, etc. The performer asked to come back and play again this year.

How to go from the Data Master to downloadable music files

I am creating two web sites of short stories on audio that will be sold as individual downloads, not as a CD. The recording studio I’ve talked to will give me a “master” with all the mixing, intro tags added, etc. My question is how do I get from a data master to WMA, mp3 and AAC files I can upload and sell on the web site?

Great music on disc without adjusting master tape?

People, hi! This is my really first posting here and to be honest, I have only known about this forum since yesterday. What made me get here? Well, in my ambition to find more precise grounds to my stand in another discussion about importance of recordings I "googled" and found recording.org and I am really glad I did.
