Acoustic Guitar Pick Noise
Pick noise is a problem that I have been dealing with off and on for a long time. I realize that some pick noise adds character and realism to the sound, but I am talking about *excessive* pick noise here.

Eliminating noise with Balanced Power
Has anyone here had any experience with using balanced power transformers to get clean power to their entire setup? I'm looking at units from Furman and Equi=tech but I'm new to the area. I have 60Hz hum running through my lines like mad and I don't want to filter it out because of the entailed signal degradation.

hum/noise from soundcard
I am going out of my mind! Can anyone help me out here?
I'm recording into a PC using a SoundBlaster Audigy card which is SUPPOSED to have a SNR of
-100db. (Yeah, RIGHT.) However, there is about -60db of noise. It's ridiculous. Even if I have nothing going into the soundcard's line in... Noise! White, pink and brown... It's all there. Along with a hearty dose of 60 cycle.

2408 in w2k with vst 5.1 causes noises upon opening?
Weird issue.
When I open Cubase VST in Windows 2000, I get these odd, piercing, high repetition digital clip sounds (about 150-200ms apart?) upon opening the application. It's like, the w2k drivers must go through some sort of buffer initialization or something odd like that when they are loaded?
I've tried it with various buffer settings.

Lucid A/D9624 and 2408 S/PDIF noise
Hi Guys: I can't figure this one out. Please help me. My set up is: d8b,lucid genx6,lucid A/D9624, and a 2408. My problem: I'm getting noise on the left side of the S/PDIF input on the 2408(S/PDIF 1). Spdif 2 works perfectly. It's not the A/D9624. I can take the S/PDIF out of the 9624 and go to a DAT and it's clean. I can also take the AES/EBU out and that is clean.

analog noise reduction, Telcom C-4
Hi,
I have an oppurtunity to buy a system of Telcom C4 noise reduction units. (It's not the kind of deal that I can try them out, and then decide if I want to buy.) Does anybody have any experience with these? Almost everything on the web that I can find is in German. I am curious to know how the sound compares to the various dolby Noise reduction units.
thank you.

Hi Pitch Computer Monitor Noise
Hi, my old NEC 17" computer monitor has developed a rather piercing hi pitched intermitent noise that is slowly driving me nuts and also annoying my dog. :p It comes and goes, almost always there at start up.
Is it time to go for the flat screen?
