USB noise
I just got a Tascam US-122 for a small setup on a PC to use it as a sampler. I have a G4 on the other hand as my DAW with DP3 and a MOTU 896 all routed thru a Mackie VLZ 1642.

Noise Gate expander question
Hi
Out of all the Fx I use, Noise gates are the one that give me so much trouble. Compressors are usually the culprits in any novices set up...
I always try to record dry, no fx no compression.
Other people I have spoken too put FX on things... OK I might record with compression on Bass guitar, but thats about as far as it goes...

Help.. de-essing/Noise gates.. how/when to?
HI anyone help?
Heres the scenario.
project studio, recording a demo
I recorded a female vocal with a decent mic (AKG C4000) I tend to record clean with no effects or compression, and add later.
Whilst she was overdubbing, she had one earphone on and one off...

I need it for already mixed down tracks before mastering.
Can anyone help?

Noise
I am starting to do voice-overs and am having to deal with noise I never heard on vocals recorded with music. This is noise created by the mic and preamp. I am also hearing mouth sounds. All of this just gets worse when compressed.

For less artifcial noise which is more important...
Input or Output.
Ive got a Sharp MT15. It has a mic in with plugin power 3v?
Would buying a battery module for my stereo electret condenser microphone so I can use it in my quieter line in give me less noise than Transfering audio via D/A A/D on a consumer sound card (sound blaster live 5.1)?
Of course there will be generation loss.
strange digital/distorted noises
Howdy,
I'm not sure I've got the right section, so my apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.
Anyway, I've got a question about my DAW not working properly. Lately, upon either playback or recording, about 30 seconds to a minute into it, the sound will start to "break down" and sounds all distorted, until, alas, there's nothing but silence.

Noise Reduction Plug-in
Okay, they say I can't use DiNR with Pro Tools LE. Any suggestions out there? Just got offered a short film job and the sound is [explitive deleted] HORRIBLE! It's about 18 db below nominal level and eq, gating, etc. just won't cut it on the sample piece they gave me. HELP!
:d: :s:
Thanks,
Uncle Bob

I am hearing my hard drive spin,CD rom spin and fan noise in the backround of my monitors. It happens on both monitor set ups. The sound is faint but, very pronounced thru the tweeters.
