Digtal Patchbay Question
Could somebody point me in the direction of a good digital patchbay which primarily consists of S/PDIF connections since I'm not "professional". Also could someone tell me why one couldn't use a 1/4 inch patchbaby and just purchase 1/4 to rca adapters?

what is a mult
I think I've got a pretty good idea already, but could someone explain the process of "multing up " a signal, give an example of uses and common ways this is accomplished And how this would be, could be applied within the Pro Tools enviorment?

Help! My patchbay is "squealing"
I can't seem to figure this one out. My 1/4 in. patchbay starts a high pitch squeal as soon as I patch a good number of things or particular pieces, as I've determined, and that's as much as I can figure out. For instance, I can have 6 patches made, with no squeal. Then I patch in my Yamaha Motif keyboard and what emerges is the worst high pitch squeal.

Patchbay question ...
I'm looking to get some patchbays installed and there seems to be a HUGE difference in price between A-Gauge and B-Gauge bays. What is the difference?
Also, Maplin used to sell a DIY bay consisting of a 2U pre-punched panel and circuit boards . does anyone know of a company still offering this?
Ta :)

Mic Preamps split at patchbay?
I am setting up a new DAW system and the idea occured to me that I might split the (outboard) mic preamp outputs on the way into the DAW with the split going to the mix console for no latency monitoring while recording. My instincts tell me this is probably a bad idea as the split will degrade the signal on the way to the DAW, however I thought I would run it by the group for opinions.

"Best" 1/4" to Rear Solder Patchbay?
OK, so, we now know to get solid nickel contact patchbays rather than plated. Alright, now what's a good 48-point, 1U, 1/4" to rear solder, solid nickel contact patchbay? And what kind of price are we looking at; for 3-blades and 5-blades?

Patchbay 101
I know this is basic, but. . . Can anyone descibe exactly how to integrate an unbalanced source (ie., Keyboard or Sound Module) into an otherwise balanced TT patchbay? I'm getting a few buzzes here and there, and I'm not sure which connections to lift or at which end. Thanks.

Patchbay Blues
Stupid and annoying problem here...
I’ve got two 48 point patchbays . The Furmans got 1/4” on the front and RCA on the back. The Behringers 1/4” all around.
