Piano Recording
This week I get to do a piano recording for an artist I have worked with before. She is a very gifted pianist and the sessions go rather well. I am planning to use a Decca Tree with three Audio-Technica 4050's in bidirectional mode. I have used this setup with this performer before and had excellent results.

EQ a digital piano
Hi,
anybody got some good tips on eq for a diguital piano in a live and in a recording situation? The pisno is actually coming from a sampler and is quite a nice sound. I've been told to roll off below about 120 hz and add a little boost around 10khz. However I'm not sure if this is a general setting and I'm not sure of the levels of gain and attenuation as well as the q shape.

How to mic an upright piano?
I have a 1968 Sohner upright piano in pretty good shape. I am doing some recording with it and I have to mic the piano, something I have never done before. I have two MXL MXLV63M mics and one Shure SM58, recording into PT with the Digi002.

Hello, I am new here and wanted some good advice for a MIcrophone to hook up my upright Piano. I am in a recording school right now but won't be in the good classes for atleast a few more months. I want so start laying down tracks NOW! So I know I probably want a condensor Mic. A good one that will get a good full recording. My budget for a Mic is around $400.
A little Debussy piano music... and more
I just finished recording the best pianist I have had the pleasure of working with. He's a doctoral candidate and this recording should seal the deal. I really went all out on this one and I think i've discovered the secret to this piano's sound.
