BEST RECORDER IN THE 1200-1500 RANGE
Forums
I've been looking at recorders and thought I had settled on the Boss BR-1600, but then found the Korg D3200, for the same price.
Let me try and list what I see are the pluses and minuses of each unit. I have not used either of these so I'm looking for input as to how well they work.
The Boss seems to be geared more to guitar players...which is what I am.

Portable cassette recorder
Forums
greetings
i used to have a little Sony walkman type cassette recorder with a built in mic...
just for the heck of it, and to keep some kind of lo-fi analog recorder option in my backpack, i want a cassette recorder that can power one of those little stereo electret condenser mics...
any suggestions please?

Simple, inexpensive 8 track recorder
Forums
I'm using GarageBand with an Alesis Firewire Mixer for my inputs, but I need to record more than 8 tracks at a time. Can anyone recommend a simple, 8 track simultaneous recorder for 8 XLR ins? I don't even need it to mix, as I'm eventually going to just lay the tracks off to GarageBand.
Thanks.

Multitrack recorder/mixer for live use
Forums
Hi Im a total newbie looking to buy a cheap multitrack recorder and mixer mostly for live use (letting me play back extra parts along with the live music). I was looking for something with at least one/two aux outputs in addition to regular outputs, to allow me to have a headphone monitor mix as well as a regular mix. I was looking at the Boss BR600 but i dont know if it has what i need.

Best Portable Flash Recorder?
Forums
Hey all,
I'm new to the forum, hopefully this hasn't been discussed before.
I have been using an Aiwa FM-70 MiniDisc for field recordings and it seems to be on it's last legs.
1) Which is the best "pocket" flash recorder out there? CF/SD (not even sure there is an SD one)

Multitrack Recorders
Forums
I've used a BOSS BR-864 and a Yamaha AW16G in the past. However, I've sold both of them on eBay and I plan on taking the money to buy a new recorder.
What is the best multitrack recorder in the $1000 - $1300 price range?
I've looked at the BOSS BR1600. I think it looks like a great unit, but I want to hear some expert opinions.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have looked through several topics in this forum and found many helpful tips, suggestions and guidelines. So far I have followed some basic steps but I am afraid I need a little guidance from experienced or knowledgeable users.
