Removing Hiss/Clicks after Mastering?
I realize this is probably a rather amateurish question for a very professional forum, but was still hoping someone might be able to help. A friend of mine recently had his demo mastered on the cheap (against my advice). It actually sounds decent, but a couple songs are fraught with clicks and hiss (i'm guessing due to the original recording).

Removing fret squeaks from an acoustic guitar track
Is it actually possible to remove fretboard squeaks from an acoustic guitar track after it's been recorded? If so, what kind of technique is employed? Thanks.
Removing plosives in a mix
Hi all. I was wondering something about plosives. I've got a couple of them at the beginning of a song and they're fairly minor and weak so I think I'm going to try to compress them or EQ them out - but out of curiousity, can anyone tell me if mastering will be able to help. I've heard that they're sometimes better handled by a good mastering engineer. Any comments?

removing 'distant sound' from voice recording
I am currently mixing a number of tracks for an amateur production. One of these tracks involves a vox recording through a stereo mic. Because there are about 6 people singing, but not simultaneously, and there was not much studio time, the recording engineer (not me) decided to choose this option.

Removing MS Crap
I'm running XP Pro, and I want to COMPLETELY uninstall most of the major Microsoft components without damaging the OS. I want to get rid of MSN Messenger, Outlook Express, Windows Media Player, and Internet Explorer, including their POS download utility. I hear that this is all possible, but rather difficult, and it must be done thoroughly and meticulously.
