Well, looks like the Digi96 Hammerfall line isn't for me since it's optical interface only and would severely limit my choices of power amps thus I'm getting the RME Digi96/8 PST which has a 1/4" TRS input and a 1/4" TRS output. When researching about this card, I stumbled upon this link:

Is it true that the expansionboards(input) only support samplerates up to 48kHz ? if so, what's the point of having a 24/96 card ?
In another thread something was mentioned about a stereo signal coming out of the output boards..is it possible to hook my monitors up with the outputs that are on the digi96/8 itself ?

Anyone know if theres a way to register RME products on the line.Cant find any info on the website.

Yeah, about the RME analog expansion boards (AEB), both the 8 output and input boards carry stereo signals though single 1/4 inch i/o jacks.

I have a Sound Blaster live digital right now, and I'm about to get an RME 9636 hammerfall card LINK, and I was wondering if I could (hopefully) just replace my Sound Blaster. Just to free up another PCI port and all. Will it play sound from games and DVD's and CD's just as well and everything? Or is it JUST geared towards pro audio stuff? Thanks for helping me out.

Hey everyone... I just wanted to ask if anyone knew if the RME ADI 8 Pro and the Nuendo 8 I/O are the same unit with different faceplates? I've been looking into buying the RME, but it's not readily available in my area, but the Nuendo 8 I/O is and I think I remember reading somewhere that they're the same unit, just cosmetically different.

I'm gonna have to choose one, please help me. Which one has better D/A conversion ?
I'm mostly interested in the sound quality between the two. thank-you in advance

Someone posted a while ago a website from Germany where we could get the ADI 8 Pro for around 970 bucks... I remember the site having different currencies where you could choose from... anyone remember that?
